People are honest more often than not. People grow and change and their feelings change. When dating someone you can realize you don’t have the same goals and plans and aren’t right for each other. It’s hard to hurt someone you love.

In my case here, I’m less angry/annoyed at him than I am disappointed in myself for ignoring my gut instincts and my own common sense. I should have left long before he ended it.

Taking a risk on love means risking getting hurt. We try to minimize that hurt to the best of our ability, but we’re human and not perfect and we have to forgive them and, most importantly, ourselves.
